Podcast Plugtime – House of Mystery #191

Horrifying dragons! Creepy puppets! Vengeful witches! They’re all in this festive issue of House of Mystery from 1971. But what’s Christmassy about this particular number of DC’s reliably great horror anthology?

Find out by joining Billy D and me on the latest edition of Billy’s Magazines and Monsters show as we go mining for four-colour gems behind the amazing Neal Adams cover. Just follow this link and hear what we found. Or have a search at Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your downloads. And do feel free to let me know what you thought.

If you don’t have the original comic, the Showcase black and white reprint edition or the Bronze Age Omnibus containing it, but do have DC Infinite, head over there, as almost the whole issue is up. Absent is a one-page humour panel that’s pretty culturally wrongheaded, to say the least. You’re not missing anything, even for the time it wasn’t amusing. What you will get is work from such talents as Len Wein, Bill Draut, Berni Wrightson, Jack Oleck and Tony DeZuniga.

Have a happy haunted holiday!
